No matter how optimistic you strive to be, frustrations come into life. (This shouldn't be a surprise, the Bible tells us in James "when troubles of any kind come your way. . ., not if troubles come your way . . .") But, I digress. I want to focus on how to shift a mindset from negative to positive when dealing with day-to-day difficulties.
If you've been put in a difficult situation, you need to remember that while you may not be able to change circumstances, you can change your reaction and your attitude. You don't have to think about "important" things to shift your attitude. Consider small pleasures that made your heart happy:
When you think of the little things that bring you joy, AKA your blessings, you can't help but feel a sense of relief. Life hack: developing the ability to have a sense of perspective will benefit you when troubles come.
Scripture is key to rising above a feeling of discontentment. There are many Bible verses that help you to lighten your load.
