Opportunity Alert: Pitch Wars

Have you heard of this (FREE) contest? I just happened to run across it and couldn't resist sharing the information with my friends.

"Pitch Wars is a mentoring program where published/agented authors, editors, or industry interns choose one writer each, read their entire manuscript, and offer suggestions on how to make the manuscript shine for an agent showcase. The mentor also helps edit their mentee’s pitch for the contest and their query letter for submitting to agents."

There's an application process. You send your query, first chapter, and synopsis with manuscript info to four mentors who you think are the best fit for your style.

Only complete, full-length fiction in the following genres will be accepted: Middle Grade, Young Adult, New Adult, or Adult manuscripts.

According to their website, "over the past nine years, Pitch Wars has changed many lives. Countless authors have been matched with agents and even gone on to book deals and successful careers."

The mentee submission window opened this past Sunday, and it will close on September 30, 10:00 p.m. EDT, so get cracking!

Go to the website. Mentors posted their wishlists. Perhaps your novel is just what they're looking for. The mentor blog hop will give you specific info.

"Mentors read all their applications and one mentee is chosen by each mentor or set of co-mentors. Together, mentee and mentor spend about three months revising the manuscript and pitch."

Best of luck to all who enter. Write on, friends!
