Okay, busy friends. I've got a challenge for you. Instead of focusing on your to-do list, create a to-be list. Not only will it help you to be a better person, it will bless the folks in your world.
Let's break this down.
Be Happy: So much of our joy depends on our attitude. Determine to have an attitude of joy. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. Psalm 16:8-9
Be Calm: Fear is the opposite of faith; fear and faith can't exist simultaneously. Instead of being fearful, choose to concentrate on faith. But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. Psalm 56:3
Be Loving and Kind: This world can be pretty awful at times, but don't dish back the dirt you were served. And as an added plus, you'll receive a blessing! (I've got tons of practice doing this, but that's info for another blog post.) Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and He will grant you His blessing. 1 Peter 3:9
Be Healthy: A positive attitude is good for you and those around you. The thoughts you hold in your mind affect your health. A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. Proverbs 17:22
Be Wonderful: Benefit your family and friends by learning and sharing wisdom. Walk with the wise and become wise; (associate with fools and get in trouble). Proverbs 13:20
Friends, slow down, what you accomplish isn't nearly as important as who you are. We're all a work in progress, make sure yours is a work of quality.
