Somebody needs to hear this (and it could be me).
Because life is full of stress, doubts can creep into our thoughts. We can let destructive emotions weigh us down. We can feel sorry for ourselves. If this happens to you, don't give in. Instead, practice trust in God.
I love that verse from Jeremiah, But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. Notice that it doesn't say, blessed is the one who tries to trust. Trust is one of those just-do-it things. Despite whatever the world looks like in the natural, there's a whole lot going on in the spiritual that you can't see. And, if you've put your trust in Jesus, you've got a Champion.
I read Jeremiah 17:7 as a promise. If you will trust in the Lord, you will be blessed! Doesn't that sound amazing? Step out in faith, and trust!
Personalize that Bible verse and make it a prayer. Like this: But blessed is [your name] who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. I say it out loud: Blessed is Megan who trusts in the Lord! Declare your trust, your heart will follow and your confidence will bloom.
I've got a few more Bible verses to personalize when you start to slip down that dark hole:
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give me grace and peace. 2 Thessalonians 1:2
God, give me complete knowledge of Your will and give me spiritual wisdom and understanding. Colossians 1:9
I also pray that I will be strengthened with all His glorious power so I will have all the endurance and patience I need. May I be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. Colossians 1:11-12
The future can feel scary because we don't know what is in store for us or our loved ones. But we can trust the One who loves us so much that He died for us. Pray the scriptures above to receive grace, peace, wisdom, understanding, endurance, patience, and joy.
Faith is like a muscle. You've got to work it to grow it.
Be blessed, friends!
