Lifehack: It's November, Do This

Happy November! Is it just me or are the years whooshing by more quickly? I suspect the month of November will also evaporate quickly.

I have a suggestion that may improve your mood and spiritual well-being through the end of the year:

Instead of rushing through November, use this month of thanks to prepare your heart for Christmas. Take some time for introspection. Take time to consider the upcoming celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ—the true meaning of Christmas.

What I'm suggesting is that you s-l-o-w d-o-w-n!

To accomplish this, I have some tips:

  1. Be still: Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. Psalm 46:10 Give yourself time to pause and set your thoughts on Heavenly things. Ask God to give you the thoughts He wants you to ponder.

  2. Get a view: The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Psalm 19:1. The natural world proclaims the Glory of God, so how much more should we? Take a walk and notice the beauty you're surrounded with. Our Lord made that for you!

  3. Journal: Take yourself to a quiet spot and journal your thoughts. (An unexamined life is one destined to repeat mistakes.) Write about your day/week, thoughts, and goals. Discuss your motivations and responses to what occurred in your day. Write a prayer, then stop and listen to what God says to you.

  4. Repeat: Make time throughout the month to do this again.

I hope you take my advice and start November with the goal of making this a month well spent. God bless, friends!
