If you know me, or if you've read my blog, you know that I persist in reaching for my dreams. Friends tell me that I'm inspirational. I don't know about that, but I know when I have a goal I keep pushing toward it.
My current goal is to get another publishing contract. I've written a new novel, and now I'm in the editing process. I'm hopeful. I have an amazing literary agent, and there are editors who are waiting for this proposal.
I'll let you in on a secret. All the times I've blogged about encouragement, the message is as much (or more) for me than it is for you.
Sometimes I think I just don't know how to quit. So I won't. There's something beautiful that occurs in your spirit when you're in the process of creation—when hope shimmers on the horizon and you don't give in to despair.
Truthfully, some days it's painful to keep pushing toward a goal that seems distant. But whenever I've thought of quitting, I have felt an overwhelming sadness. So, I adjust my attitude and press on.
You see, I don't believe I'm alone on this journey. HE is with me. My God comforts me when I'm discouraged, and He draws me forward and gives me the grace to persist.
Let's hang in there together, friend. Don't give up! Write on!
*Be sure to stop by next week. I'll have some interesting news to share as well as some wonderful memories of my first published novel.
