I hope you're enjoying your summer—spending restful moments outdoors in nature and making beautiful memories with family and friends.
Happy 4th of July!
Do you love history? I sure enjoy it. Since 2014, I've been hooked on the TV series Turn: Washington's Spies. It is the untold story of America's first spy ring. (You should binge-watch it and get caught up on the episodes.)
Although the show is fictionalized, the main events are true, and the program brings to light the struggles of those who fought for our freedom.
This past spring, I went to Colonial Williamsburg. It was awesome to walk down the same streets that so many patriots strolled. It really brought to life our great history.
It's hard to imagine what the world would have been like if the American Revolution was not undertaken or victorious. I am grateful for what our forefathers accomplished to create a nation as unique as the United States. God bless America!
"It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more." ~ John Adams
